Some shrubs and trees harbour delicious bugs and moist soil which can excite your chickens on the hunt for grubs. Our solution - a shrub or tree guard measuring 1m in length wrapped around the base of the shrub or tree and connected securely to a small star picket with a safety cap. This will ensure it won't be knocked over by enthusiastic birds!

The galvanised mesh is 19cm high X 100cm long and has 6.5mm² sized holes ensuring the mulch or soil remains safely inside the guard.

We have used a star picket with a capping for strength, durability and safety as our feathered friends can be quite determined to get their juicy bugs. Gloves are needed for installation.
