The breeds listed are not always in stock. Our chickens get sold very quickly. If looking for particular breeds - please order ahead of time! We sell many chickens daily and do not want to disappoint.
Heritage Chickens
City Chicks supplies a large variety of heritage hens. The pure breed hens are raised together in large flocks so you can choose your own combination of backyard chicken beauties without pecking order issues.
Our heritage chooks begin laying from 7-9 months of age and will stop after 4-5 years of laying.
All of our laying hens are vaccinated against Mareks Disease and Fowl Pox. Most pure breed chooks will go broody and stop laying throughout parts of the year.
Note: Egg size is about 2/3rds the size of a hybrid egg layer. Heritage breeds are more expensive than hybrid egg layers due to their longer lifespan and beautiful appearance.
