A Friendly Working Farm
We are a working farm on 5.5 acres in the heart of Samford Valley, set up in 2024 & just 35 minutes from Brisbane CBD, around 35km door to door. Our guests have the chance to experience the charm of the countryside, enjoy gorgeous mountain views, admire our farm animals, get close to a bit of farm life & enjoy a break from suburbia.
We began the City Chicks poultry business in 2007, supplying backyard chickens and accessories to city families. Over the years we have appeared on TV, radio & podcasts, always sharing a fun, practical & down-to-earth approach to keeping chickens.
Today, City Chicks Farm provides a welcoming place for guests to connect with nature & enjoy country hospitality close to the city. The Farm is about creating something genuine & different, a personal, small-scale farm destination where guests can sip good coffee, unwind & feel a little closer to the land.

The Farm
We breed black headed Dorper sheep & Nigerian miniature goats. All the offspring are hand raised in The Barn & sold to visitors who fall in love with them & bring them to their own hobby farms. Come and meet the sheep, goats, calves, ducks, geese, turkeys and chickens.
River Walk
A gorgeous walk along the South Pine River. Look for kingfishers, wrens & herons, and look for the platypus that lives at the left hand section of the river. You will see bubbles floating up, but please don't disturb her!
Cafe
Relax at the cafe & enjoy home cooked food. Breakfast, lunch, barista coffee, smoothies and homemade treats, with a view over the working farm. See the menu.
Farm Shop
Browse the baby chicks, ducklings, geese, turkeys & ducks in & around the Poultry Shop, along with feed, bedding and everything else you need to get started. Browse the online shop.
Barnyard & Bees
The Barn is where the current baby animals are housed. This dedicated area keeps the babies safe from foxes & wild dogs, and each season new babies are there for guests to admire & socialise with. Our Native Bees are on display in The Barn too, and we sell fully populated hives brimming with bees.
Farm Walk
Buy a Feed Cup & go for a walk down the farm, hand feeding to the farm animals & walking among our poultry for sale. Gravel pathways, gently undulating, and the best way to see the whole property.

An Event Venue
Hens parties, Book the Farm, proposals, photographers, birthday gatherings, corporate meetings, car clubs, gardening groups, board game groups and bird watching groups. Exclusive use of the farm and cafe is $220 per hour, available 2pm to 9pm daily.

The cafe, farm shop and upper animal viewing areas are the easiest parts of the property to access.
If you'd like to explore further, our Farm Walk follows gravel pathways with some uneven and gently undulating terrain, so it may not be suitable for everyone with limited mobility.
We currently have standard toilet facilities, however wheelchair-accessible toilets are not yet available.

Located at the base of Mt Glorious Road, we're the ideal stop before or after a hike, scenic drive, or motorbike ride. Plenty of trails and rides nearby to explore.
Chicken Shop
Browse our range of poultry supplies and heritage breed chickens. Chat to our staff about your backyard chicken possibilities before you go!
Riverside Scenery
Enjoy the beautiful South Pine River setting, shady trees and native birdlife including wrens, kingfishers and native parrots.
Please note: Parental supervision is required for all areas of the farm.

Visitor Guidelines & Safety
Welcome to City Chicks Farm & Café! To keep everyone safe and ensure an enjoyable experience for all, please take a moment to read our Visitor Guidelines, Safety & Rules.
NOTE: We take the welfare of our animals seriously. If behaviour around them does not follow our rules, you will be spoken to and if the behaviour continues, please do not be offended if we ask you to leave the Farm.
🐮 Observing the Animals
- • Animals are to be observed from the designated viewing areas only — please do not enter paddock or animal areas.
- • Please treat all animals with kindness and respect — no chasing, shouting, or throwing objects.
- • Do not feed animals unless directed by staff.
- • Children must be supervised at all times by their accompanying adults.
🚜 General Farm Safety & Conduct
- • Visitors are welcome to enjoy the cafe, shop, and observe our animals from viewing areas around the property.
- • Adult supervision is required for all children at all times.
- • Stay on paths and respect "Staff Only" areas, 'Private Property' and 'Do Not Enter' areas.
- • City Chicks is a smoke-free area.
- • City Chicks has a licensed Cafe where alcohol is sold. Alcohol can only be consumed in the Cafe area to those over 18 years of age.
- • Please be courteous to staff and other visitors — we're here to make your visit special!
- • Entry is at your own risk. Management accepts no responsibility for loss or damage to personal items.
- • Shoes are to be worn on all areas of the Farm at all times.
